Black Swan

The moment I saw the trailer for Black Swan, I said, this is going to be my Halloween costume. Truly I just wanted an excuse to attempt the makeup.

I put this outfit together from mostly leftover things I've had over the years: the leotard was sewn together by my mother and I (originally for a Rocky Horror Picture Show costume... go figure.) thus why it's sparkle-y. The ballet shoes were as simple as black satin ribbon tied around bedroom slippers. Bam. DIY dream come true.

The makeup is not as hard to replicate as you may think.

I'm mostly doing this to enter both LookBook's and Chictopia's halloween costume contests!

Wanna help me out?

Vote for me :)

Also: HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!!! Go binge on candy and watch horror movies.

Bad Wings

crochet top - thrifted, tank & harem pants - f21, shoes - nine west, jewelry - everywhere

I've been planning this look for I don't know how long. Purple and black used to be my favorite colors. I was debating on and off for weeks, "are harem pants worth it? are they too dated?" and I'm glad I convinced myself to get them, because they're sooo comfyyyyy. And no, I stand firm that they are not dated.

My makeup is entirely borrowed from Kat Von D's line. I'm in love with her products. I took a chance on them at Sephora, and truly they are some of the truest colors, most easily blended, long lasting makeup I've ever worn. I considered doing a review on the palettes of Kat's line that I own.

I borrowed her "Sinner" look from the Metal Orchestra palette:

for my next look, I'm hoping to show you all my halloween costume! Y'know, since I'm on this whole makeup binge...

We parted our lips and we reached from inside

Top- vintage, skirt - Urban Outfitters, boots - thrifted, jewelry - gifted

I can't tell if I should be called the nose, the legs, or Mrs. Robinson. Ten cookies for whoever understands that.

These sequined tights cost me the nylons I was wearing, oh well. It's so glitzy and glamorous. This was my mom's leopard print blouse from the 80's that we hacked the sleeves off of and took the seam in. I heart it dearly.

Nothing to super contribute today, this sleeping kitty on my lap is preventing me from typing anyways. So much for wearing black clothes before heading into work, they attract his white fur like a magnet.

I'm in the crunch time of the school year - so lazy, but everything I do at this point is important to my grade, just wish I could muster the time to a) care b) do the things I love.

Also I've been lovesick.

what.

Enjoy the song this look is named after. It's a nice reflection of my current mood and state of mind.
